Where the Right Introductions Happen

The business leaders in Hutchinson, Minnesota know how to make things happen. Nowhere else will you find business people so excited to step up and do what it takes to help make someone else’s business get off the ground or expand, and succeed.  Rare maybe, but not in Hutchinson where the entrepreneurial spirit is strong.

Hutchinson business leaders take the time to connect and build relationships. It’s these “networks that are hugely helpful for small business,” says Duane Hoversten of the Hutchinson Small Business Development Center. Both well-established companies and new entrepreneurial endeavors alike, find resources, financing, support, and encouragement within the Hutchinson business community. Hoversten, whose finger is firmly on the pulse of small business growth in rural Minnesota strongly feels, “Hutchinson has the economic and community commitment to grow from 2012 and beyond. We are a progressive business area.”

It’s right here that the right introductions happen, information is shared, and our local banking community steps up to the plate. “Our banks are always adding new venues of financing..always changing to give a broad range of financing options, including loans through the Small Business Administration (SBA). There aren’t any situations where financing isn’t an option,” adds Hoversten.

Another powerful local business resource is the Southwest Initiative Foundation whose mission it is to be a catalyst, facilitating opportunities for economic and social growth by developing and challenging leaders to build on the region’s assets. Hoversten urges small businesses to connect with the Southwest Initiative Foundation, as it “is a great entryway to get introduced to the local networks within the community.”

With business resources so abundant in this area, it doesn’t take long in Hutchinson to make the right connections.
